The main character Alison has the composure of Dana Scully and the spookiness factor to even out do Fox Mulder. Patricia Arquette plays Allsion, a law student who begins to suspect that she can talk to dead people, see the future in her dreams and read people’s thoughts. Fearing for her mental health, she turns for support to her husband Joe (Jake Weber, “U-571″), an aerospace engineer, who slowly comes to believe that what his wife is telling him just might be true. The real challenge is convincing her boss, D.A. Devalos (Miguel Sandoval) — and the other doubters in the criminal justice system — that her psychic abilities can give them the upper hand when it comes to solving violent and horrifying crimes whose mysteries often reside with those who live beyond the grave.

The series is starting its second season on Nov15th. The show is still struggling to get a grip on closing the gaps by the end of the show. Most episodes are left with the feeling that if they had five more minutes that there would be real closure to each episode. I hope next season they can work on those issues as well as some of the plots that don’t make very much sense. I love the shows Ghost Whisperer and The Closer, this show seems that it is trying to bridge the gap between the paranormal and solving cases by the end of the show.

Partricia Arquette and the supporting cast are believable as an everyday family. One of the girls is starting to show her own gifts. While Ghost Whisper and The Closer have the same central themes as Medium, this show has the family core values down to a T. They just need to tie off the Episodes a lot cleaner and stronger in order to get the same target audiences as those two shows and keep me interested. I do love this show, but in their Sophmore year they better be able to get it right.
