Cloverfield was awesome. Im not giving away the storyline but we saw it friday night. We got there an hour early and waited to get good seats. The 6:00 show was over and people started coming out excited and it was packed. Our showing was packed and when we left there was a line for two other theaters. It was the busiest movie weekend I have seen since thanksgiving a few years back. The movie is shot from the perspective of a group of friends, one of them holds the camera through most of the movie. The movie never switches from that perspective. Its more done in the style of blairwitch then most hollywood movies. It was very well thought out. Even if you wanted me to explain what the creature is, i can’t. Me and my boyfriend both said we couldn’t describe the creature. We saw it yes, but we cant tell you what it is. The movie does leave a few lose ends that you’ll have to find out for yourself. There are so many things going on that you have to watch it twice to get the full idea for the story. It was great spend your money and go see it on the big screen.

Julian McMahon and Movies and Nia Long and Sandra Bullock06 Apr 2007 09:15 am

 Premonition - Sandra Bulock
Premonition (2007)

Director: Mennan Yapo
Main Cast: Sandra Bullock as Linda Quinn Hanson, Julian McMahon as Jim Hanson, Nia Long as Annie

Oh where do i start ?! I loved it:-P

We start the movie with flashbacks of Linda’s marriage to her sexy husband Jim(who played on charmed as alyssa milano’s love interest forever on charmed.) They achieve her dream of stability, big house, kids the works. The only pitfall is that he is often gone and works a lot. There are a series of flashbacks while the credits rolled in and it gets you caught up to their present day life.

The story starts on a normal day of the week wednesday, to say the least. She takes the girls to school and gives them their lunches. She calls her friend nia long (from so many movies lately but my favorite is 3rd watch, now she is on Boston Legal. Hopefully the “Are we done yet?” series of movies really is done.) She goes for her daily jog, puts together her grocery list together. She puts little stickers on the glass patio doors to keep the girls from running into them when they are playing. She gets a visitor from the police station to say her husband died and the circumstances. I paid attention to every detail i could make out because i knew this scene was gonna be important later on, and it was. But that is predictable right ? She picks up the girls from school, and tells them about their daddy’s accident, this is where the movie gets unpredictable. I am not one to spoil a movie, you wont get that in depth from me.

The next day should be thursday but instead we are thrust into a roller coaster ride of what day is going to be next and something happens on everyday that really messes up how things turn up in the end. She finds out some interesting facts about her husband and some of things he has been up to in the last few weeks. The night we finally realize that she is out of days and the next day is going to be wednesday again when she goes to sleep and wakes up and your waiting for her to chew him a new one for the things he has been up to, and to tell him he’s gonna die the next day. She let’s everything go and has a close night with him.

On wednesday you still don’t know what is going to happen. She knows all his secrets and can turn the tides at any time on their marriage by trying to save his life. When the event finally happens i was like ok this is what its suppose to be about, then it gets even more unpredictable until the end of the movie. I can usually predict everything in a movie but this one threw me off, which is when i like movies. I loved this movie, the characters were great, even the second fiddle ones still stay fresh in your mind. With all the hopping from one day to the next you have to think about the puzzle pieces and how they correspond with what is suppose to happen today, even though those events happen you still don’t see them coming.
